LA Theater Events is an independent guide to live theater in the Los Angeles area. This policy explains what we collect when you use latheaterevents.com, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect your email only if you give it to us, we use basic analytics to see what's useful, we don't sell your data, and you can leave any time.
What we collect
- Your email address — only if you enter it in our signup or giveaway form. We do not ask for your name, phone, or payment details.
- Basic usage data — through Google Analytics: pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location (from your IP address, not precise), and how you arrived. This is aggregated and not used to identify you personally.
How we use it
- To send you occasional emails about shows, openings, and giveaways — only if you signed up.
- To notify you if you win a giveaway you entered.
- To understand which parts of the site are useful so we can improve it.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
Who we share it with
We use a few trusted services to run the site. Your data is handled under their own privacy terms:
- Brevo — stores our email list and sends our emails.
- Google Analytics — provides the anonymous usage statistics described above.
- Hostinger — hosts the website.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to measure visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on. Blocking them will not affect your ability to use the site or enter a giveaway.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe any time — every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we'll remove you.
- California residents — under the CCPA/CPRA you may request the personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete it, and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing." We do not sell or share personal information, but you're welcome to exercise these rights by emailing us.
Keeping your data
We keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Analytics data is retained by Google for a limited period under their standard settings.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we update this policy we'll change the date above. Continued use of the site means you accept the current version.
